Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education Office is seeking an Assistant Principal for St Francis Xavier, Goodna, to lead teaching and learning across a Catholic school community. The role is a substantive five-year appointment with possible extension and entails responsibility for curriculum, assessment, staff development and student wellbeing.

You will work within BCE's leadership team to strengthen religious life, student engagement and educational outcomes, while ensuring transparent resource management

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior leadership role within Catholic schools or equivalent.
• Experience in teaching and leading religious education.
• Catholic identity and eligibility to be Catholic are required.

Summary

Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) is seeking an outstanding educational leader to join our leadership team as Assistant Principal. This position plays a key role in leading teaching and learning, curriculum implementation, assessment, data-informed practice, and professional growth to ensure excellence and equity for all learners.

In this position you will be responsible for:

• Model and embed a contemporary Catholic worldview within curriculum design, pedagogy and assessment practices.
• Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of a compliant whole-school curriculum aligned with BCE frameworks and system expectations.
• Lead the development of high-impact pedagogical practices that improve student learning outcomes across all year levels.
• Oversee the development and implementation of assessment frameworks that are aligned with QCAA and BCE expectations.
• Collaborate with inclusive education leaders to ensure curriculum access and participation for all learners, including students with diverse needs.
• Work collaboratively as a member of the Campus Leadership Team to align teaching and learning priorities with BCE strategic direction.
• Ensure all curriculum, assessment and reporting practices comply with BCE policies, QCAA requirements and legislative expectations.
• Ensure clear, timely and professional communication with parents and caregivers regarding student learning progress and curriculum matters.
• Contribute to whole-school strategic planning, improvement agendas and review processes aligned with BCE frameworks.

Please note: This is a substantive 5 year appointment as Assistant Principal (with a further 5 years offered subject to a positive review), with an underlying continuing teaching status

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

• Experience as an Assistant Principal, Assistant Principal Religious Education, Deputy Principal, Head of Campus or Principal, or a senior role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools, or equivalent experience
• Experience in teaching, and leading the teaching of, religious education.
• You are required to be Catholic for this position.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
• Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
• For this position you are required to be Catholic (or a faith partner of one of our ecumenical schools).
