Brisbane Catholic Education invites applications for a substantive five-year Assistant Principal Religious Education at St Joseph's Primary School Kangaroo Point. The role leads Catholic identity, faith formation, and school leadership across teaching and learning.

You will support the Principal, foster inclusion and staff development, manage assigned staff and resources, and use data to inform pupil progress and wellbeing.

About our school

St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Kangaroo Point was founded by St Mary of the Cross MacKillop in 1870. In 1880 the Sisters of Mercy took over the leadership of the school. It is one of the oldest Primary schools in the Brisbane Catholic Education system. It is now a thriving, cosmopolitan, contemporary, inner-city school, set in lush surroundings servicing the Parish of Kangaroo Point / East Brisbane.

Summary

We are seeking a passionate and faith-filled Assistant Principal Religious Education to lead the religious life of the school, nurture its Catholic identity, and inspire excellence in faith formation. This role also encompasses Primary Learning Leader responsibilities, providing the opportunity to support high-quality teaching and learning, foster staff capability, and enhance student outcomes across the school community.

• Location: St Joseph's Primary School, KANGAROO POINT
• Work hours: Full-time
• Salary: $149,763.00 - $157,120.00 + 12.75% Super (commensurate with experience)
• Status: This is a substantive 5 year appointment as APRE (with a further 5 years offer subject to a positive reivew), plus underlying continuing teaching status

Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) invites applications for this School Senior Leadership position with the capability to support the Principal in:

• Building the religious life of the school and a vibrant Catholic identity within the school community;
• Growing the engagement, progress, achievement and wellbeing of each student in the school; and
• Building a sustainable school community, ensuring stewardship of resources with transparency, accountability and compliance.

In this position you will be responsible for:

• Leading, promoting and strengthening the Catholic identity of the school by embedding faith, values and mission across school life, learning and community engagement;
• Embedding a culture of inclusion, diversity and belonging that reflects Catholic values and supports the overall well-being of all;
• Fostering a high-performance culture by supporting and inspiring staff through providing professional learning and development opportunities and providing vision, direction and purpose;
• Supporting staff and students in their personal, professional and spiritual growth through formation, theological learning and reflective practice within a Catholic Christian context;
• Leading and managing assigned staff, finances and resources in accordance with legislative requirements, Archdiocesan expectations and BCE policies and procedures.
• Providing professional support in the use of data to track student progress at individual, cohort and whole school level, making modifications to improve student outcomes, and plan for further learning.
• Providing teachers with feedback on classroom pedagogy and planning.

Please note: This is a substantive 5 year appointment as Assistant Principal (with a further 5 years offered subject to a positive review), with an underlying continuing teaching status.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

• Experience as an Assistant Principal, Assistant Principal Religious Education, Deputy Principal, Head of Campus or Principal, or a senior role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools, or equivalent experience
• Experience in teaching, and leading the teaching of, religious education.
• For this position you are required to be Catholic.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
• Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
• For this position you are required to be Catholic (or a faith partner of one of our ecumenical schools).
