Job summary

Crowley Hire is seeking a reliable Casual Tilt Tray Driver & Yard Hand in Port Macquarie. The role combines equipment transport with yard duties, pre-starts and general support across our hire operations.

We welcome applicants with a current HR licence and tilt tray or similar experience. The position begins as casual with potential to progress to full-time, with flexible hours and ongoing opportunities within Crowley Hire’s growing fleet.

Responsibilities

• Operate tilt tray to deliver and collect hire equipment.
• Load/unload and secure excavators and other machinery.
• Complete truck pre-starts and basic vehicle checks.
• Co-ordinate deliveries and pickups with customers and team.
• Clean and prepare machines between hires; assist with maintenance.

Job description

Crowley Hire is looking for a reliable and hands-on Casual Tilt Tray Driver & Yard Hand to join our growing team.

This is initially a casual position with the potential to develop into a full-time role for the right person.

The role combines machinery deliveries and pickups with yard duties, equipment preparation and general support across our hire operations.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating our tilt tray truck to deliver and collect hire equipment

• Loading, unloading and safely securing excavators, access equipment and other machinery

• Completing truck pre-starts and basic vehicle checks

• Coordinating deliveries and pickups with customers and the Crowley Hire team

• Cleaning and preparing machines between hires

• Completing equipment pre-start and return inspections

• Refuelling and greasing machinery

• Moving equipment around the yard

• Keeping the yard, trucks and equipment clean and organised

• Assisting customers with equipment collections and returns

• Reporting damage, faults or maintenance requirements

• Assisting with basic maintenance and general yard duties

• Supporting the wider Crowley Hire team when required

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a current HR Driver Licence

• Has experience operating a tilt tray, machinery transport truck or similar vehicle

• Understands safe load restraint and machinery transport

• Is comfortable operating and working around earthmoving and access equipment

• Has a strong focus on safety

• Is reliable, punctual and organised

• Takes pride in their work and presentation of equipment

• Can work independently and use initiative

• Is comfortable dealing directly with customers

• Is flexible depending on deliveries, pickups and workload

• Has a positive attitude and is willing to help wherever required

Previous experience in equipment hire, transport, earthmoving, civil construction or machinery operations would be highly regarded.
