Job summary

Palo Alto Networks seeks an experienced security operations professional to join Unit 42 in Canberra. The ideal candidate will follow established processes to analyze threat alerts from Cortex XDR and contribute to remediation efforts.

You will work with global customers, provide actionable insights to engineering and threat intelligence teams, and help shape the next generation of security products. This role emphasizes collaboration and in-person teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a multi-tier SOC/IR environment.
• Experience with EDR, SIEM, SOAR and firewall technologies.
• Strong knowledge of attack trends and vectors.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience with Malware Analysis or relevant military background is a plus.
• CEH / CompTIA CYSA+ certifications are a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Cortex XSOAR or Cortex XDR is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Join a new emerging team as part of Palo Alto’s Unit 42, working closely with global customers providing the best security in the market.
• Own an incident lifecycle from outbreak to full remediation.
• Provide critical feedback to product, research, engineering and threat hunting teams to improve the products for all customers.
• Collaborate with Threat Intelligence teams to remediate and detect new threats.
