Job summary

IFYS Limited is seeking Residential Youth Workers in the Bundaberg region to provide day-to-day care in a safe, therapeutic environment for young people under supervision. You will support behaviours, plan activities, and complete daily case notes and admin tasks.

Candidates with transferrable skills from working with vulnerable people are encouraged to apply. The role offers casual employment with on-call support and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• A QLD Working with Children Blue Card or have applied for one
• Current Queensland driver's license with no restrictions
• Ability to provide two references from recent employers (including your current line manager)
• Already hold or are enrolled in a Certificate IV or higher in a relevant field prior to commencing work (IFYS can provide advice/more information on this)

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for young people to grow and learn
• Support and manage young people’s complex and challenging behaviours in a consistent and calm manner
• Build rapport and remain non-judgmental whilst maintaining professional boundaries
• Plan individual and group activities to meet the young people’s needs and goals in line with Case Plans
• Use daily routines to provide hands on training of life skills such as cooking, budgeting, and personal care
• Timely and accurate completion of administrative duties including petty cash, case notes, and incident reports
• Transport clients to school, work, appointments and other commitments

Education

Certificate IV or higher in a relevant field
