Job summary

selectability is seeking a Practice Advisor - Therapeutic based in Townsville to lead expert guidance, coaching, and practice development across services for people with complex needs.

You will help embed trauma-informed, person-centred approaches and drive continuous improvement through frameworks, resources and models of care. Collaboration with families, carers and multi-disciplinary teams will be essential to delivering high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience providing specialist practice advice in complex service environments.
• Experience coaching and developing workforces to strengthen capability and confidence.
• Sound understanding of person-centred, trauma-informed and rights-based practice approaches.
• Ability to apply legislation, standards, policy and professional frameworks to complex practice situations.
• Knowledge of HSQF, NDIS Practice Standards and other regulatory frameworks.
• Strong communication, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving and continuous improvement capability.
• Commitment to a systems focused, no blame approach to safety, quality and organisational learning.
• Experience across disability, child and family care, mental health and aged care (desirable).
• Experience developing practice frameworks, tools, resources, training or capability building programs (desirable).
• Experience working within governance, safeguarding or quality improvement environments (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist therapeutic leadership and advice to support safe, person-centred, evidence-informed practice.
• Support regional teams to respond to complex therapeutic needs, risks and behavioural challenges.
• Promote trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, strengths-based approaches.
• Build workforce capability through coaching, mentoring, and practice development initiatives.
• Contribute to development and continuous improvement of therapeutic frameworks and tools.
• Promote best-practice approaches to wellbeing, inclusion and quality of life.
• Support implementation of therapeutic strategies strengthening safety, connection and resilience.
• Foster collaborations with families, carers and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Provide insights to inform service improvement and organisational learning.
• Maintain contemporary therapeutic knowledge and culture of continuous improvement.
