Job summary

Calvary Health Care in Canberra is seeking a Theatre Wardsperson to join our permanent team. This is a support role that assists Nursing staff in Wards and Theatres, handling transfers of patients and equipment, soiled linen and waste, cleaning, and limited patient care tasks under direction from Nursing staff.

You may also assist with securing and opening the hospital after hours under the direction of the After Hours Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work as an effective team member under direction.
• Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work demands.
• Good knowledge of risk management, safety and quality principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist Nursing and staff in Wards or Theatres with patient transfers and equipment handling.
• Manage soiled linen, waste and cleaning tasks as directed.
• Perform limited patient care duties under supervision and assist with opening/secure Hospital after hours.
