Job summary

HealthX is seeking a Theatre Registered Nurse for Stanthorpe Hospital, QLD. You will deliver high-quality perioperative care across Anaesthetics, PACU, Scrub/Scout and Endoscopy, while joining a support-focused rural team. The position offers a 4-week contract with travel allowance and accommodation assistance.

Ideal candidates will hold AHPRA registration and ALS, with recent theatre and cannulation experience. On-call duties may apply during this contract window.

Qualifications

  • Current AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse)
  • Recent Theatre nursing experience
  • Experience in Anaesthetics and PACU/Recovery
  • Scrub/Scout and Day Surgery/Endoscopy experience
  • ALS certification and cannulation competency

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care within the theatre environment
  • Assist with Anaesthetic and PACU/Recovery nursing duties
  • Scrub and scout for a variety of surgical procedures
  • Support Day Surgery and Endoscopy services
  • Perform cannulation and utilise advanced clinical assessment skills
  • Respond to patient deterioration and emergencies
  • Participate in theatre on-call roster as required
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, nursing and allied health teams

Theatre Registered Nurse – Stanthorpe, QLD | Hospital Contract
$70 per hour + super + penalties | Travel allowance & accommodation provided | 4-week contract opportunity

About the Role

As a Travel Theatre Registered Nurse at Stanthorpe Hospital, you will provide high-quality perioperative nursing care across multiple theatre disciplines. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support safe, efficient, and patient-centred surgical services while participating in the on-call roster as required.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care within the theatre environment
  • Assist with Anaesthetic and PACU/Recovery nursing duties
  • Scrub and scout for a variety of surgical procedures
  • Support Day Surgery and Endoscopy services
  • Perform cannulation and utilise advanced clinical assessment skills
  • Respond effectively to patient deterioration and emergency situations
  • Participate in the theatre on-call roster as required
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, nursing, and allied health teams

What you'll need
