Job summary

Gilson College in Melbourne, Victoria is seeking a dedicated Textiles and Food Technology Teacher to join the Secondary team for a 12-month part-time role (0.65 FTE) commencing Term 1, 2027. The successful candidate will plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes, embed Christian-based values, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning.

• Plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
• Use critical reflection to improve knowledge, learning and skills of students.
• Use multiple sources of feedback on their classroom practice to inform their professional learning goals.
• Show a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning within the school and the wider Seventh-day Adventist school system.
• Can support and actively promote, and not undermine, the Christian-based values and ethos of the College based on the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
• Have the capacity to teach the Australian curriculum in the context of the college's Christian-based ethos.
• Be able to plan for and lead daily Christian-based class devotions to students.
