As a key Member of the Wabtec Controls Systems Team, the purpose of the Tester in Charge is to ensure all testing and commissioning activities are carried out safely according to design, on time and budget.
FIFO role: This position is required to be based in WA with the requirement to work both locally, interstate and on a FIFO basis as required.
Promote and ensure the appropriate standards of health, safety and environmental management are adhered to;
Take overall responsibility for the testing and commissioning of new and altered signalling systems for Signalling projects.
Responsible for production of Signalling Test & Commission documentation, testing methodology and testing charts for approval
Preparation of testing and commissioning plans;
Complete all relevant documentation required for testing and commissioning activities in accordance with client and industry standards;
Control and optimise the allocation of human and physical resources in respect to testing and commissioning activities on the project;
Identify potential safety, cost, time, quality, procurement and human resources issues and implement corrective actions
Co-operate with quality, safety, and environmental objectives and contribute where appropriate for continual improvement.
Manage testing and commissioning of signalling equipment to meet contract specifications, performance and safety parameters.
Manage effective utilisation and allocation of project-based testing resources both internal and subcontracted.
Liaise with project management and construction ensuring all site works are completed prior to testing and commissioning;
Report on testing and commissioning activities
Able to work on a FIFO basis, commencing in the Pilbara region
5 years' experience working as a Functional Tester or Tester in Charge within the Rail Industry
Engineering degree or equivalent, advantageous however not essential
IRSE License.
Experience in Railway Signalling Testing & Commissioning of Projects
Statement of competencies displaying technical experience executing testing and commissioning with major Rail operators.
Good personnel management and communication skills.
Prepared to travel regularly.
