In this role, you'll:
This 24-month fixed term full-time opportunity is for a Mechanical Engineer working onsite at the Crashlab site in Huntingwood, Sydney NSW.

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, this role will be responsible for conducting hands-on mechanical preparation of test items and contributing to safety performance assessments of vehicles and road safety-related products in accordance with the research and commercial requirements of Crashlab.

Primary responsibilities include:
Testing of vehicles and roadside furniture installations; writing test reports; and supporting research programs for the TfNSW Centre for Road Safety.

About you:
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical degree (such as Mechatronics). You must also hold a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license and possess a willingness to work outside of regular working hours on occasion.

You must be able to work as part of a team in a highly technical environment. You should be highly organized, have a strong attention to detail, and be committed to embedding safe work practices in everything you do.

The successful candidate will be technically competent and have strong written and oral communication skills. A conversant knowledge of digital drafting/modelling systems such as CAD would also be an advantage.

You will have a demonstrated ability to problem-solve and seek solutions when approaching new and unfamiliar technologies.
