Job summary

St Andrew’s Cathedral School in Sydney's CBD seeks a final-year tertiary student for a part-time internship (0.2 FTE) starting Week 1, Term 1 2027. One day per week, term-time only, gaining paid hands‑on experience in teaching within a Christian school community.

You will be supported by the School Coordinator, attend weekly intern meetings with devotionals and teaching discussions, and have paid opportunities to attend relevant Professional Learning.

Qualifications

• A tertiary student in their final year (2027) pursuing Bachelor or Master of Education/Teaching.
• Genuine interest in learning about teaching in a Christian school.
• Willingness to engage with current developments in pedagogy.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with teachers.
• Commitment to the school’s Christian mission, values and ethos.

This role offers valuable hands‑on experience for tertiary students considering a career in education within a supportive Anglican school environment.

As an Intern, you will be provided with:

• support and oversight of the program(s) by the School Coordinator
• collegial weekly Intern meetings, including devotionals, professional discussions about the development of teaching practice, and reflections on the progression of your individual teaching goals.
• Paid opportunities to attend relevant Professional Learning

Who will the successful applicant be?

• A tertiary student in their final year in 2027 (Bachelor or Master of Education/ Teaching)
• Possess a genuine interest to learn about teaching in a Christian School
• Able to demonstrate a growing knowledge of recent developments in the theory and practice of pedagogy.
• Display outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers
• Expected to understand and have a commitment to the School’s Christian mission, values and ethos.
