Job summary

Ferrovial is seeking a Temporary Works Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project in Birmingham during its initial design phase, running alongside the main works. You will lead the design of temporary railheads and related works for Lot 3, ensuring HS2 standards, contractual requirements and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive design/engineering management experience, temporary works, instrumentation & monitoring, with a rail infra delivery track record.
• Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer preferred.
• Railway environment experience preferred.
• Proven TW large-scale infra project management experience.
• Strong understanding of railway standards and Works Information requirements.
• Ability to manage complex interfaces across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience managing designers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure temporary works are designed and constructed per process, standards and drawings.
• Coordinate with site teams, TW designers, permanent works designers, and suppliers.
• Ensure training for on-site temporary works management.
• Maintain training records and documentation for TWC/TWS.
• Coordinate interfaces between site teams and subcontractors.
• Ensure design competency checks comply with CDM regulations.
• Develop and maintain TW delivery programmes.
• Align with HS2 Works Information and technical specifications.
