Job summary

Mabey Hire is seeking a Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Dewsbury. You will produce temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework, reporting to a Design Team Leader.

The role suits an engineer with a few years post graduate experience in structures or geotechnical design, with a solid understanding of temporary works. At Mabey Hire, the floor is yours to fulfil your potential and take us forward.

Qualifications

• A HND or degree in civil/structural engineering.
• At least 3 years experience designing temporary works.
• Good understanding of CDM 2015.
• Experience designing Formwork & Falsework.
• Experience with AutoCAD 2D and REVIT.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Experience of designing temporary works for groundworks and/or building refurbishment propping (e.g. geotechnical design of sheet pile cofferdams and/or propping and needling).
• Prepare temporary works designs for groundworks and eventually other product schemes.
• Checking designs and drawing in accordance with BS5975:2019.
• Attend client meetings and carry out site visits.
• Review design briefs provided by the sales team through Launchpad and provide feedback if more information is required.
• Managing your own workload
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects as agreed by the Engineering Director.

Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a design engineer to join our engineering team in Dewsbury. Reporting to a Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for producing temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework.

You Will

You Will Have
