Temporary 8-Week, 2-Day Infant Nanny - Marrickville NSW

• The role is focused on infant care, with only light baby-related household duties required

Our lovely Marrickville family is seeking a warm, nurturing and experienced temporary nanny to care for their happy and relaxed 3-month-old baby boy, two days per week for approximately eight weeks.

Baby is described as a chilled and content little boy who enjoys cuddles, gentle interaction and pram walks along the nearby Cooks River pathway. His routine is still developing, with wake windows of approximately 1-1.5 hours and naps lasting between 45 minutes and two hours. The nanny will provide attentive, age-appropriate care, including tummy time, developmental play, nappy changes and supporting his feeding and sleep routines.

Baby is exclusively breastfed and receives expressed breast milk by bottle approximately every 2-3 hours. During nap times, the family would appreciate assistance with light baby-related duties, including washing and sterilising bottles, organising the nappy bag and keeping baby areas tidy.

Mum or Dad will be working from a separate studio in the backyard and available if needed. The family also has two older daughters, aged 2 and 5, who attend daycare and kindy, so the role will focus solely on caring for their baby boy.

The ideal nanny will be gentle, patient and experienced with young infants, confident following a flexible routine and providing a calm, loving and engaging environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Providing warm, nurturing and attentive care for B3m
• Preparing and offering bottles of expressed breast milk approximately every 2-3 hours, as required
• Supporting developing sleep and feeding routines
• Settling for naps, following the family's preferred settling methods
• Taking for pram walks and enjoying fresh air
• Engaging in gentle, age-appropriate play, tummy time and developmental activities
• Nappy changes and maintaining good hygiene throughout the day
• Washing and sterilising baby bottles
• Repacking and organising the nappy bag when required
• Keeping baby-related areas and equipment clean and tidy
• Communicating with Mum and Dad regarding feeds, naps and general wellbeing

Qualifications & Requirements

• Warm, gentle, nurturing and reliable personality
• Previous professional nanny and/or childcare experience, particularly with newborns and young infants
• Confidence with expressed breast milk, bottle feeding and infant settling routines
• Sound knowledge of infant development and safe sleep practices
• Ability to confidently provide sole-charge care while parents work nearby
• Patient, adaptable and comfortable following a flexible, evolving baby routine
• Non-smoker
• A minimum of two child-related references
• Current Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate, including infant CPR
• Current National Police Check
• Excellent communication and English skills
• Comfortable working in a household with pets
