Job summary

Yeronga State High School is seeking a proactive Canteen Assistant to support the running of the school cafe. The position is temporary part-time (0.66 FTE), 50 hours per fortnight, based on site.

You will carry out catering and cleaning duties, including food preparation and barista coffee, while maintaining food safety and a hygienic environment and providing friendly service to staff and students.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to show initiative.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Qualifications in Hospitality are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality canteen and catering services, including food preparation, barista coffee and customer service.
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment in line with food safety and workplace health and safety.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for staff, students and visitors.
