Job summary

Telstra in Sydney is offering a 2-year Networks Technical Traineeship designed to develop hands-on technicians who will learn to build, operate and maintain telecommunications infrastructure across our network.

As a trainee, you’ll learn from experienced Telstra technicians, combine structured training with real-world experience, and work toward a nationally recognised Certificate III/IV in Telecommunications. Commencement is February 2027 and the program spans multiple Australian locations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on and technically minded approach.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Professional and respectful communication skills.
• Current driver licence required.
• Ability to meet inherent role requirements including pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Constructing, operating and maintaining telecommunications equipment and infrastructure.
• Supporting installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding activities.
• Working alongside experienced Telstra technicians and mentors in the field.
• Developing understanding of telecommunications networks and equipment.
• Gaining exposure to technologies such as Transmission, Data & IP, Core, Radio and Mobiles.
