Job summary

Telstra is offering a two-year Telecommunications Technician Traineeship in Australia. You will learn on the job while developing practical skills to build, operate and maintain telecoms equipment and infrastructure.

As a trainee, you’ll work with experienced Telstra technicians, receive structured training, and pursue nationally recognised telecommunications qualifications. The program begins in February 2027 with multiple Australian locations including NSW Sydney.

Responsibilities

• Constructing, operating and maintaining telecommunications equipment and infrastructure.
• Supporting installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding activities.
• Working alongside experienced Telstra technicians and mentors in the field.
• Developing your understanding of telecommunications networks and equipment.
• Gaining exposure to technologies such as Transmission, Data & IP, Core, Radio and Mobiles.
• Building your technical capability progressively throughout the two-year program.
