WSP is seeking a seasoned Telecommunications Engineer to lead ICT projects across Australia, applying expertise in structured cabling, Outside Plant, IT & OT networks, and mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years experience in Telecommunications/ICT within the Property and Buildings sector.
  • Experience in Australia within an engineering consultancy is essential.
  • Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Systems or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery and timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with MEP engineers, Controls and Security designers.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation and managing construction phase services.
  • Collaborative mindset, enthusiasm for innovation, and commitment to delivering technically strong outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and documentation of projects involving Structured cabling systems, Outside Plant, IT & OT Networks, ICN platforms.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop ICT strategies and holistic solutions.
  • Interface with Controls, MEP and Security specialists to develop an architecture that supports other systems holistically.
  • Research and implement latest innovations in the Telecommunications discipline.
  • Prepare technical documentation and manage construction phase services.
  • Ensure compliance with WSP’s quality assurance and project delivery standards.
  • Support commissioning activities.

This role offers the chance to work on high-profile projects across the region for multiple clients. You’ll play a key part in delivering mission critical projects that demand reliability, resilience, and innovation, while contributing to the continued growth and success of our business.

Key responsibilities
  • Supporting the design and documentation of projects involving Structured cabling systems, Outside Plant, IT & OT Networks, ICN platforms.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 4 years experience with an emphasis on Telecommunications / ICT services within the Property and Buildings sector.
  • Relevant Engineering degree (Bachelor or Masters) in Telecommunications, Computer Systems or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, design standards, and timelines.
  • Experience in Australia within an engineering consultancy is essential.
  • Experience in data centres, transport, healthcare and/or aviation preferred.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with MEP engineers, Controls and Security designers.
  • Ability to provide technical expertise in Telecommunications systems architecture.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation (e.g. specifications, schematics, reports) and managing construction phase services.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing project timelines, deliverables, budgets, and stakeholder relationships.
  • A collaborative mindset, enthusiasm for innovation, and commitment to delivering technically strong and efficient project outcomes.
