This position is a part of a 24-hour switchboard department where shift work may be required.

As a Telecommunication & Information Officer, you will provide essential switchboard, paging and information services that support the smooth operation of Westmead Hospital around the clock. You will be the first point of contact for many patients, visitors and staff, delivering professional customer service while responding efficiently to routine and emergency communications.
Operate the hospital switchboard, paging system and information desk, including responding to emergency calls and activating pagers in accordance with established procedures.
Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting patients, visitors and staff with enquiries and facilitating after‑hours hospital access.
Maintain and update on‑call rosters, telecommunications databases and communication systems to ensure accurate and reliable service delivery.
Assist with routine testing of communication equipment, identify faults and escalating issues to support safe and effective hospital operations.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet service standards, contribute to quality improvement initiatives and continuously enhance the customer experience.
