Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or advanced diploma in telecommunications, electronics, or related field.
• Three years of full-time telecom field engineering experience may substitute for formal qualification.

Responsibilities

• Plans and supports NBN and telecom projects, including fibre, civil and network installation works.
• Visit sites to check installation needs, routes, access and risks.
• Installs, tests and monitors telecom equipment and fibre networks.
• Sets up devices, connects equipment to computers and networks.
• Tests fibre and network gear with testing tools.
• Diagnoses faults and performs repairs and upgrades.
• Keeps accurate site records and manages assets.
• Provides technical support to managers, clients and subcontractors.
