Job summary

Telconnex Pty Ltd seeks a Civil Engineering Technician to support telecommunications infrastructure and civil works across Victoria, including underground construction, trenching and pit and pipe installations. The role is full-time at our Aspendale Gardens site in VIC, Australia.

The position requires a relevant civil engineering qualification and 1–2 years' experience, with strong drawing interpretation, site inspection and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in civil engineering required.
• 1–2 years' experience as Civil Engineering Technician or similar.
• Experience interpreting civil drawings, site plans and specs.
• Ability to conduct site inspections and measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to report findings clearly.
• Excellent teamwork and communication with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with civil engineering activities for telecommunications and underground construction projects.
• Interpret site drawings, technical plans and work instructions.
• Assist with site surveys, measurements and marking out areas.
• Prepare sketches and technical information to support projects.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor works for safety and quality.
• Record and analyse site data and maintain project documentation.
• Coordinate trenching, earthworks and cable installation activities.
• Support drilling operations and locate underground services.
• Coordinate with project managers and subcontractors to deliver projects.
• Monitor equipment and arrange maintenance as needed.
• Maintain accurate site records and reports.
