Job summary

Zinfra is seeking an experienced Communications Worker to install, maintain and test overhead and underground fibre optic cables across Melbourne and Victoria, supporting electrical distribution networks. You will work with fibre splicers and help ensure projects and maintenance tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience as a Communication Technician or similar and hold an Electrical Lineworker qualification (or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Experience as a Communications Technician or similar.
• Electrical Lineworker qualification (or equivalent) required.
• HR licence with HR+ highly desirable; High Risk Work Licence - Elevated Work Platform.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate communication network activities with internal & external stakeholders
• Prepare and input data for work records and reporting requirements
• Comply with flexible work practices to meet system needs
• Ensure all the required training and authorisations are in date at all times and participate in identifying productivity, procedural and safety improvements
• Following and conforming to all safe working practices, OHS&E principles and Australian standards
• Participate in on-call roster as required
