YMCA South Australia is seeking a Technology Solutions Engineer to join the Adelaide head office. You will connect core systems to a new data environment on Google Cloud, automate AI-enabled workflows, and assess software for risk and fit.
You’ll collaborate across departments to deliver end-to-end solutions and shape the evolving data platform. The role emphasizes building with AI coding agents, using Python/SQL to validate outputs, and supporting a not-for-profit mission with flexible hybrid
Department: Corporate Services
Type: Full-time

Closes: 25 November 2026
We’re looking for a technology generalist who can build. You’ll join our small technology team at our Adelaide head office, reporting to the IT Manager, and take business problems from the first conversation through to a working system. A lot of that work is connecting our core systems and automating the manual steps between them - much of it in NexusY, our new data environment on Google Cloud.
We build mostly with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, so we want someone who already works that way. You’ll still need enough Python and SQL to read what the tools produce, check it and fix it. The split is roughly 40% build and 35% shared IT operations (identity and access, Microsoft 365, escalations, weighted to your background). The other 25% is working with teams across the organisation on new requests and ideas. There are no direct reports, and you’ll have the authority to run delegated work end to end.
What we use:
You won’t need experience with every one of these, as long as you’re comfortable learning new tools quickly.
The data platform is new, so you’ll help shape how it’s built and run. For the first 12 months you’ll work alongside senior engineers from our delivery partner, which is a good way to learn quickly. Your work will also reach most parts of the organisation, from aquatic centres to early learning.
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:
