Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a skilled MineStar underground implementation specialist to deploy and configure underground MineStar products at client sites in Australia. You will install, test, and train end users and administrators, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and site needs.

The role emphasizes hands-on system installation, module configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation. Onsite, full-time work at the Perth office with potential opportunities in Adelaide or Brisbane;

Qualifications

• Technical Bachelor’s Degree or relevant IT/engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with software system implementation in mining environments.
• Experience with IT system architectures and cybersecurity.
• Experience with underground mining onboard technology installation and commissioning.
• Experience in Fleet Management implementations is desirable.
• Experience in Underground mining is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% (domestic and international).
• Onsite full-time work at Caterpillar Perth, with Adelaide or Brisbane considered.

Responsibilities

• Implement Caterpillar MineStar underground products at customer sites.

• Investigate and resolve technical problems; respond to customer questions.

• Support dealers and customers during installation, configuration, debugging, testing, and integration.

Job description

• Implement Caterpillar MineStar underground products, including Command for underground and Fleet/Detect for Underground, at new and existing customer sites
• Install and configure complete underground MineStar systems according to contracts and site-specific needs
• Configure system modules based on customer business analysis requirements
• Plan and execute integrated testing and customer acceptance testing
• Investigate and resolve technical problems and respond to customer questions
• Provide technical training to end users and system administrators
• Perform implementation and integration tasks for internal and external customers
• Assist with documentation, training, and functional specifications
• Follow project management processes and implementation assignments
• Provide basic training on standard implementation processes and MineStar system usage
• Support dealers and customers during software installation, configuration, debugging, testing, and system integration

Requirements

• Technical Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant experience in a related IT/technical/engineering role
• Extensive hands-on experience with technical software system implementation, preferably in a mining environment
• Extensive hands-on experience with IT system architectures, enterprise computing infrastructure and cybersecurity
• Hands-on experience with mining heavy vehicle onboard technology system installation, configuration and commissioning
• Experience in Fleet Management implementations is highly desirable
• Experience in Underground mining is highly desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to undertake up to 25% domestic and international travel
• Full-time onsite work five days a week in the Caterpillar Perth office; Adelaide or Brisbane offices also considered
