Job summary

Orica is seeking a hands-on Technician - UG Mining Equipment (HcD Technician) to join our Mining Services team based in Perth, WA. You will service, maintain and repair underground blasting equipment, including Hypercharge Drive Units, and provide technical support to customers on-site and by phone.

This role involves inspection, commissioning of new equipment, and travel across Western Australia and South Australia on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with maintaining mobile or fixed plant equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic or electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair underground blasting equipment, including Hypercharge Drive Units (HcD).
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and system faults and fix them.
• Provide technical support and advice to customers on-site and over the phone.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise downtime for customers.
• Carry out inspections, routine servicing and maintenance audits.
• Assist with installing, testing and commissioning new equipment.
• Build strong relationships with customers through reliable service and support.
• Keep accurate service records and operate safely per site and Orica requirements.

About the role

We're looking for a hands-on Technician - UG Mining Equipment (HcD Technician) to join our Mining Services team based in Perth, WA.

In this role, you'll support Orica's underground blasting machinery and customer-operated systems through maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment commissioning, and technical support across Western Australia and South Australia.

This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically or electrically-minded people looking to apply their skills in a new industry. Whether you are experienced or not, we'll train and support you to develop your knowledge of underground blasting operations and our specialised mining equipment.

Working on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, you'll fly to Orica locations across Western Australia, enjoying a high level of autonomy while providing technical support and training to our valued customers.

What you will be doing
