Job summary

Hancock Iron Ore is seeking a Pit Technician to join the Mine Geology team on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth to the Sanjiv Ridge mine site for a 7 month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Supervisor Geology, you will assist with sampling, data entry and validation, ensure safe sample transport to the laboratory and maintain stock checks for essential equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within a mining production environment.
• WA C class manual driver's license or national equivalent.
• Ability to work a flexible roster across operations.
• Experience completing Take 5's/JHA's and safety conversations.

Responsibilities

• Blast hole, plant, moisture and density, and ROM sampling.
• Daily pit face checks, ROM, stockyard, and waste dump inspections.
• Producing instructions to support weekly plans and data entry for reporting.
• Maintaining stock checks and replenishment of equipment.
• Support other technical services and operations teams as required.

About the role:

TheMine Geologyteam is currently seekingaPit Technicianto join themon an8/6daysonly FIFO rosterbased atthe Sanjiv Ridge mine site for a 7 month Fixed Term Contract. Reporting to theSupervisor Technician Geology,you will be responsiblefor assisting our technical services and mine operations teams with a range of sampling activities and inspections, including all associated data entry and validation. You will ensure the safe transportation of samples from sites to the laboratory and will be responsible for maintaining regular stock checks and replenishment so that the required equipment is readily available to complete tasks.

There will also be requirement toassistother technical services and operation teams, including Environmental, Hydrogeology, Engineering, Surveying and Operations, making for a diverse role with plenty of upskilling potential.

Key Duties:

• Blast hole, plant, water, moisture and density, and ROM sampling
• Daily pit face checks, ROM, stockyard, and waste dump inspections
• Producing crushing instructions to support Integrated Weekly Plans
• Monitoring vegetation and fauna
• Bore monitoring
• Blast monitoring and data tracking
• Basic survey set out and pick-ups
• Compiling and entering data into systems for reporting

Skills and Experience:

• Experience in a similar role within a mining production environment
• WA C class manual driver's license or national equivalent
• Ability to work a flexible roster to provide coverage across the 3 operations
• Experience in completing Take 5's/JHA's, Hazardreportingand safety conversations
