Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia seeks an experienced Instrumentation Technician to join our processing team on a full-time permanent basis. The role is based at the Tropicana Gold Mine and is FIFO from Perth or Kalgoorlie.

You will service, repair and optimise processing plant instruments, ensuring reliability of automated systems and contributing to maintenance scheduling. WA licensing and a police clearance are mandatory.

Qualifications

• WA A class Electrical licence with Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation is required.
• Experience and understanding of a highly automated plant are essential.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and instrument maintenance capabilities.
• WA C class driver's licence and ongoing work rights in Australia are mandatory.
• A National Police Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and calibrate plant instruments to ensure optimal operation.
• Troubleshoot and optimise instruments and related control systems.
• Develop and implement instrument PM schedules and maintenance routines.
• Assess and trial new instruments and technologies for the processing plant.
• Provide technical support to the Processing department as required.

These are two of Western Australia's premier gold operations, with ongoing investment and exploration taking place across both open pit and underground operations at each site.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Instrumentation Technician to join our processing team on a full time permanent basis.

Accountable to the Senior Production Metallurgist, this role is responsible for servicing, repairing and optimising the processing plant instruments.

This role is based at ourTropicana Gold Mine- FIFO 8/6 from Perth or Kalgoorlie.

The key accountabilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining, servicing and calibrating plant instruments
• Troubleshooting and optimisation of instruments
• Developing and optimising instrument PM schedules
• Making recommendations for trialling new instruments
• Providing relief assistance in the gold room
• Technical support for Processing department

Key Requirements

• A Western Australian "A" class Electrical licence with Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation
• Have previous experience and an understanding of a highly automated plant
• Experience with Allen Bradley and CITECT
• Be self-motivated and enjoy troubleshooting
• WA C class driver's licence
• Existing and ongoing permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
• A National Police Clearance
