Job summary

Geely Australia is seeking a Technical Specialist to join the Aftersales team. You will provide premium dealer technical support, escalate diagnostics, and help design training programs to uplift technician capability across the network.

Transitioning from workshop repair to OEM ecosystem, you will mentor technicians, deliver face-to-face and online modules, and ensure knowledge consistency with product launches and system updates.

Qualifications

• Technical working experience within an Automotive OEM or Master Technicians aiming for the next step.
• Experience with Connected Services Technologies desirable.
• Experience with EV technologies desirable.
• Training content development or workshop facilitation is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional technical support to Geely Australia dealer partners.
• Design, develop and deliver technical training content (face-to-face, virtual, hands-on).
• Coach and mentor dealer technicians on diagnostic techniques and repair procedures.
• Ensure dealer compliance with manufacturer processes for diagnosis and reporting.
• Support onboarding and structured learning for candidates transitioning from workshops.

• This role is also open to skilled workshop-based technicians who may not have prior OEM or corporate automotive experience. • As a Technical Specialist at Geely Australia, you will play a vital role in providing a premium level of dealer support and technical assistance to ensure timely resolutions of technical concerns across the dealer network.
• You will also contribute to the design and delivery of technical training programs that uplift dealer technician capability and ensure knowledge consistency across the network.
• Compared to a traditional workshop role, this position offers a more collaborative, strategic and cross-functional work environment, with opportunities to engage in diagnostic escalation, training development, and cross-departmental technical communications.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Technical Manager you will:

• Provide exceptional standard of technical support for the Geely Australia dealer partners that drives Customer Satisfaction and Net Promoter Scores
• Provide specialist end-to-end technical support, education and process development for a seamless dealership experience
• Ensure efficient, timely and accurate resolutions to product-related technical topics and dealer concerns, ensuring a “fix-it-right first time” approach and a premium customer experience.
• Provide real-time and coordinated dealer Technician coaching, mentoring and guidance on technical processes, connected services, diagnostic techniques, repair procedures and systems.
• Ensure that all dealer partners follow the relevant manufacturer processes for diagnosis, repairs, technical incident escalations and reporting.
• Design, develop and deliver technical training content—including face-to-face, virtual, and hands-on modules—aligned with product launches, repair procedures, and system updates.
• Monitor dealer technician training progress, maintain training records, and support certification programs to ensure technician competency across the dealer network.
• For candidates transitioning from a workshop role, we offer onboarding support, structured learning and shadowing opportunities to help bridge the knowledge and environment gap into the OEM ecosystem.

Job Requirements:

• Technical working experience or similar within an Automotive OEM or Master Technicians willing to take the next step in their careers.
• Competence and Experience with Connected Services Technologies highly desirable
• Competence and Experience with EV Technologies highly desirable
• Previous experience in delivering technical training, developing training content, or facilitating workshops is highly regarded
• Automotive training certification or adult learning qualification (e.g., Cert IV in Training and Assessment) is a plus
• Process and procedural orientation, analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data with an attention to detail
• Customer satisfaction mentality with the ability to identify quality improvement opportunities
• Relevant Tertiary qualifications within Automotive landscape
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills
• Team player with a collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving
