Glencore’s Clermont Open Cut is seeking an experienced Technical Services Superintendent (Mine Planning) to lead and develop a high‑performing planning team on site. You will drive rolling medium-term plans, optimise designs and schedules, and collaborate across geology, operations and commercial teams to maximise value.

Requirements include a Mining/Civil degree, extensive Open Cut leadership experience, and strong communication.

Clermont Open Cut, a Glencore Operation, is currently seeking an experienced Technical Services Superintendent (Mine Planning) to join and support our team of technical professionals on site. Located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin, Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck & shovel operation that produces 12 million tonnes of coal per annum. Clermont Open Cut Operation is a safe and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high performance outcomes. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this role will offer variety and opportunity to the right individual.

In this role your core responsibilities will be:

• Lead the development and delivery of rolling medium-term mine plans aligned with business objectives and production targets.
• Optimise mine designs, schedules, and resource utilisation to maximise value, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with mine planning, geology, geotechnical, operations, and commercial teams to ensure integrated planning outcomes.
• Manage planning risks, monitor plan compliance, and provide forecast updates to support informed decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the mine planning team while driving continuous improvement and planning excellence.

Requirements for the role include:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering
• Extensive Open Cut mining experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities
• S123 & G2 qualifications (desirable)
• Demonstrated experience in leading a team to deliver high performance outcomes safely
• Contractor Management experience
• Strong communication skills
• A proven ability to lead and influence a team and make decisions based on your technical expertise
• Experience with Deswik and Spry software packages will be highly regarded
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• QLD Drivers Licence
