Job summary

Saab Australia is seeking a Technical Publications Team Lead to guide the NCS ILS team, lead the publication lifecycle and ensure delivery of high‑quality manuals for software-intensive systems.

You will mentor staff, manage scope and resources, and coordinate with engineering to plan project deliveries. A strong focus on S1000D, Word/FrameMaker and Windows/MS Office is essential, with Australian NV1 eligibility preferred.

Qualifications

• Eight years of Technical Writing experience in manufacturing, technology, engineering or Defence.
• Experience developing technical and operator manuals for software-intensive systems.
• Excellent written English.
• Experience with S1000D publication development.
• Advanced document development/editing in Word and FrameMaker.
• Broad experience with Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
• Experience developing documentation for hardware and software products.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the Technical Publication Team capability to support NCS requirements.
• Estimate, plan and support execution of project deliveries.
• Maintain team capability to develop and deliver Technical Publications to the customer.
• Provide direction, prioritisation and management support to the team.
• Manage project scope, coordinate resources and allocate tasks.
• Support S1000D capability and related toolsets.
• Mentor and train team members.
