Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our Data Centre team in Queensland. The role supports complex data centre programmes, with FIFO working arrangements across QLD, reporting to the client and leading the design, risk management and delivery processes.

The successful candidate will have 5–10 years of data centre project management experience, a strong technical understanding of HVAC, electrical and BMS systems, and a proven track record delivering on time and within

Qualifications

• Degree in construction management or related field.
• Professional/tertiary qualification in project management, engineering or construction.
• Strong communication, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience managing data centre or similar technical projects.
• Understanding of total project lifecycle from inception to post-project review.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments and deliver client-focused outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex projects and programs as the key client interface.
• Develop relationships, solve problems and drive projects to successful completion.
• Manage the design process to meet client requirements and manage expectations.
• Review project plans, scheduling, costs, discrepancies and potential construction problems.
• Oversee project safety and environmental requirements.
• Manage timelines, risks and reporting.
• Oversee budgets and advise on cost-saving options.
• Coordinate vendor scope with overall project delivery.
• Draft and process contracts per approved templates with the project team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage complex projects and programs as the key client interface
• Developing working relationships, problem solving and driving projects to successful completion
• Managing the design process to achieve the client's requirements and manage expectations
• Reviewing project plans and specifications, scheduling, costs saving measures, discrepancies, potential construction problems, etc
• Managing project safety and environmental requirements
• Managing project timelines, risks and reporting
• Managing project budgets and advising on options to keep budget on track
• Being engaged with marketing and business development initiatives
• Co-ordinating vendor scope with overall project delivery
• Contract Execution: Drafting contract documents in strict accordance with legal approved contract templates. Working closely with project team/sto ensure effective and timely document processing and management of contract documents
• Bring strong communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills

• Degree in a Construction Managementa related field
• Technical understanding of Data Centre Infrastructure - HVAC, Electrical, Generators, Fire, Security and BMS
• Professional/tertiary qualification in project management, engineering or construction
• A minimum of 5 - 10 years project management experience,gained within a Data Centre or similar technical environment
• A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project inception stage, design, authority approvals through to construction completion and post-project review
• Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques
• Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment
• Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your client
