We are currently looking for a motivated and talented Technical Project Manager to join our Canberra team. In this role, you will be coordinating, planning, executing and delivering complicated cross-functional software and non-software projects. Identify, prioritise, and lead process improvement opportunities within Agile software teams. Coach individual team members on Lean and Agile principles. Identify, prioritise, surface, and mitigate risks to program delivery—Liaise with senior leadership and working-level colleagues alike across organisations to ensure clarity and alignment.

This role is a full-time position in the oneZero Canberra office. Applicants must be based in the Canberra region or be able to relocate.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Scrum Master
- Own the Agile process for one or more development squads, ensuring smooth delivery and team health.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
- As a servant-leader, remove impediments to enable the team to focus on delivery, employing cross-squad coordination as needed.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and transparency within the squad.
- Track and report on sprint metrics (velocity, burndown, etc.) to support data-driven planning.
- Coach team members on Agile best practices and work collaboratively with the team to continuously improve execution of these standards.
Release Manager
- Coordinate and govern the software release process, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery to clients.
- Define and enforce release readiness criteria, timelines, and processes.
- Partner with Engineering, QA, and Client Services to triage issues and prioritise fixes or features.
- Maintain release notes, schedules, and internal communication across departments.
- Lead go/no-go release meetings, driving consensus and ensuring release confidence.
- Ensure post-release reviews occur and insights feed back into process improvements.
Program Manager
- Drive execution and delivery of cross-functional, company-wide initiatives beyond software development.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Operations, Legal, and Executive teams to define goals and timelines.
- Create detailed project plans, manage milestones, and identify/escalate/mitigate risks proactively.
- Act as the single point of accountability for execution and results.
- Use strong communication skills to align teams, drive decisions, and maintain progress.
- Bring structure and visibility to complex, ambiguous initiatives using project management tools and techniques.
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a technical or hard science field.
- Familiarity with a variety of approaches to scaling Agile to mid-sized organisations (50-100 technical staff).
- Agile/Scrum certification (e.g., CSM, CSPO, SAFe) is desirable.
- Familiarity with JIRA CLOUD and Atlassian project tracking software.
- 3+ years of experience applying Agile/Scrum methodologies in a software development context.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Hands-on experience with organisational change methodologies.
- Prior history working in other roles (Dev, QA, Product Manager) is a plus.
