Job summary

Village Roadshow Theme Parks seeks a Technical Production Manager to lead the technical vision for live entertainment across Australia’s premier theme parks. You will partner with creative teams, operations and sales to deliver exceptional, commercially successful experiences while driving in-house capability and innovation.

• Significant experience leading technical production for live entertainment, events, attractions, venues or large-scale experiences.
• Strong expertise across audio, lighting, video, show control and production systems.
• Proven success managing large projects from concept through to delivery.
• Experience balancing creative outcomes with commercial and operational objectives.
• Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A passion for creating extraordinary guest and client experiences.
• The ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on when required.
• Experience within entertainment, theme parks, attractions, large venues, performing arts, festivals, live events or corporate production environments will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical design and delivery of seasonal events, live shows, activations and immersive guest experiences.
• Create innovative production concepts across lighting, audio, video, show control and themed environments.
• Develop memorable experience moments that elevate guest engagement and strengthen event identity.
• Partner with sales and event teams early in the client journey to deliver tailored production solutions.
• Support the growth of corporate events, conferences and premium activations through expert technical consultation.
• Identify new commercial opportunities and enhance revenue through innovative production offerings.
• Develop a best-practice technical production framework across the organisation.
• Improve production planning, documentation, procurement and operational processes.
• Identify opportunities to bring more production capability in-house, improving quality, efficiency and return on investment.
• Guide the development of future technical infrastructure, show venues and entertainment systems.
• Provide leadership, mentorship and technical guidance across production and entertainment teams.
• Foster strong collaboration between creative, technical, operational and commercial stakeholders.
• Build a culture of innovation, excellence and continuous improvement.

We're now seeking an exceptional Technical Production Manager – Theme Parks to lead the technical vision behind some of Australia's most exciting entertainment experiences.

You'll play a pivotal role in shaping how live experiences are imagined, designed, delivered and evolved across our iconic theme parks and event venues.

About the Role

As the Technical Production Manager, you'll provide strategic leadership across technical production, live entertainment, seasonal events, corporate functions, guest activations and emerging experiences.

You'll work closely with creative teams, operations, sales, entertainment, and executive leadership to bring ambitious concepts to life while ensuring every experience is technically exceptional, commercially successful, and operationally sustainable.

This role offers the unique opportunity to influence experiences from concept to execution, while building internal capability and reducing reliance on external suppliers.
