Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is seeking a Technical Officer for On-Site Sewage Management to oversee inspections and determine applications to protect public health and the environment within the Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA.

• Investigate pollution incidents and respond to complaints, taking appropriate regulatory action when required
• Conduct themselves in accordance with Council’s values-based behaviours

Technical Officer On Site Sewage Management

At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we
work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community.To help us achieve this, we require an experienced TechnicalOfficer to join our On-Site Sewage Management team. You will work across our amazing region whilst protecting the environment and the health of our residentswithin the Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA. As part of our team, you will keep ourcustomers and the health of the community at the forefront of your duties toensure public and environmental health is protected.

On a typical day, our Technical Officer - On-Site Sewage
Management will:

• Undertake routine
  inspections of On-Site Sewage Management systems
• Assess and determine
  applications under the Local Government Act.
• Use technical expertise
  to analyse and interpret consultant reports, legislation and guidelines to
  provide professional advice to residents and staff.
• Investigate pollution
  incidents and respond to complaints, taking appropriate regulatory action
  when required.
• Conduct themselves in
  accordance with Council’s values-based behaviours.

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per
week

Salary (exclusive of super): Starting in the range of $80,812 to $90,454 depending on skills and experience

Opportunity for performance based increases available after 12 months.

This role
