This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in environmental compliance, inspections, investigations, regulatory services, or wastewater management who enjoys a mix of field work, customer engagement, and technical reporting.
Initially offered as a 2-month contract commencing early to mid-September through to early November, there is a strong possibility of extension and potentially an ongoing opportunity, making this an excellent opportunity to gain experience within Local Government and get your foot in the door with Tweed Shire Council.
As the Technical Officer - Liquid Trade Waste, you will play an important role in ensuring businesses across the Tweed Shire are complying with Council requirements relating to the discharge of liquid trade waste into the sewer network.
The role involves a combination of site inspections, compliance assessments, customer engagement, investigations, and technical administration.
We are looking for someone who has experience in a compliance, inspection, environmental, or technical role and is confident working with customers and stakeholders.

If this position extends into a longer-term opportunity, you may be required to obtain a Certificate IV in Water Industry Operations (Trade Waste) or equivalent accreditation, subject to course availability.
