Job summary

Tweed Shire Council in Murwillumbah is seeking a Senior Technical Officer - Construction Quality to oversee quality assurance across civil construction works and ensure environmental, waste management, and biosecurity compliance throughout project delivery.

You will lead quality control, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives, and provide specialist support to construction teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality infrastructure for the Tweed community.

Senior Technical Officer - Construction Quality

Join a team committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure outcomes for the Tweed community. As the Senior Technical Officer - Construction Quality, you will oversee quality assurance across Council's civil construction operations while ensuring environmental, waste management and biosecurity compliance requirements are met throughout project delivery.

  • Lead quality control, testing and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Help deliver infrastructure assets that benefit the Tweed community for years to come.

  • a base salary ranging from $87,689 per annum with competency-based increments up to $103,869 per annum, plus 12% super

  • Commuter Use Only (Operational Vehicle) - Use of Council vehicle allocated to designated positions outside working hours - no private use permitted.
We are seeking:
  • Experience in civil construction quality assurance, with strong skills in materials testing, results interpretation and quality control processes.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing specifications, auditing programs and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve high-quality project outcomes.
  • Proficient in using and developing technology and data management systems to support job tracking, reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Knowledgeable in construction waste management, environmental compliance and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • A collaborative leader with strong communication skills, capable of coaching teams, preparing technical reports and driving best-practice outcomes.

This position is based in Murwillumbah andcan be directed to work from any Council work site.
