Job summary

Sigma Healthcare is seeking a Technical Lead for MPS Applications in Melbourne. You will provide hands-on engineering leadership, design software, guide day-to-day decisions and mentor engineers while scaling engineering practices.

Reporting to the National Manager Enterprise Technology and Customer Service, you’ll drive architecture, collaborate with product managers and DevOps teams, ensure secure, performant delivery, and help grow the team with strong, practical leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years developing and maintaining enterprise-grade systems with focus on maintainability and quality.
• 5+ years in database design (relational and NoSQL) with performance optimisation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Proven technical leadership within delivery teams and ownership of outcomes.
• Ability to mentor engineers through pairing and feedback, fostering high-quality delivery.
• Strong communication skills to explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and execution of the Software Engineering strategy for MPS.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across design, architecture and implementation.
• Design and deliver new features with product managers, designers and engineers.
• Promote agile practices, production readiness, and incident response standards.
• Mentor and develop engineers, partnering with Security, Cloud and DevOps teams.
