Job summary

AIA Australia is undergoing a major technology, data and business transformation and is building a modern platform on Azure Databricks. We seek a Technical Lead - Data Engineering to guide the data engineering team and deliver scalable data products aligned with business goals.

Reporting to the Head of Data Platforms and Analytics, this role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne and involves hands-on design, ETL, data modelling and leadership to mentor engineers across locations.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on data engineering and detailed design experience.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Databricks, data modelling and ETL automation.
• Experience with Python and SQL; cloud data services in Azure.

Responsibilities

• Define detailed technical solutions and manage delivery for the data engineering team.
• Design, build and maintain scalable data ingestion, curation and transformation frameworks.
• Lead onshore and offshore engineers; ensure data quality, security and performance.
