You will guide software and platform engineers, align architecture with implementation, and resolve cross‑domain issues across containers, infrastructure and integration workstreams.
In this role you will plan, design and implement across uplift, migration and deployment activities, owning the technical approach and ensuring readiness across build, test
At Leidos Australia, our work goes beyond a job title. We design, build, operate and support the systems, services and capabilities that help protect and advance the Australian way of life.
Backed by a global organisation of more than 40,000 people, our Australian team of around 2,000 has partnered with government, defence and national security customers for more than 30 years.
We deliver mission‑critical solutions where reliability, trust and purpose matter.
Leidos is a destination for people who want their work to have purpose, their contribution to be recognised, and their career to grow without needing to fit a single mould.
Meaningful work is supported by benefits, flexibility and career pathways that help you grow while balancing life outside work. This includes:
You’ll join a team where people work with integrity, inclusion, innovation, agility, collaboration and commitment. In practice, that means sharing ownership, solving complex problems together and staying connected to the customer context, the purpose behind the work and how each role contributes to meaningful outcomes.
Brings together expertise across intelligence, software, and cloud to deliver end‑to‑end capability supporting the full intelligence lifecycle, from planning through to dissemination and feedback. The team fosters a culture of innovation, leveraging modern engineering practices and shared infrastructure to rapidly build, test, and deploy software solutions across a range of environments, including cloud.
MSS also plays a key role in advancing technology modernisation within Government, delivering scalable and adaptable solutions for complex enterprise challenges.
In this role, you will lead the technical delivery of complex software solutions into secure, standalone environments. You will provide technical direction to multidisciplinary teams of software and platform engineers, connect architecture with implementation, and resolve issues spanning applications, container platforms, infrastructure services and integration workstreams.
Lead technical planning, solution design and implementation across software uplift, platform migration, integration and deployment activities. Own the technical approach, ensuring application, platform, security and integration activities remain aligned across delivery workstreams.
Coordinate technical readiness across build, test and production environments, including deployment dependencies, release inputs and transition into operational support. Guide the adaptation of existing applications for secure environments while maintaining common source code baselines and separating environment‑specific configuration from core application logic.
Manage technical dependencies across applications, platforms and infrastructure services, including interfaces, identity services, object storage, artifact repositories and enterprise Git services.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to software and platform engineers delivering containerised solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, GitOps and CI/CD practices.
You combine broad technical understanding with the ability to work through implementation detail when required. You can lead software and platform engineering specialists through application uplift, container platform migration and secure systems integration, while working collaboratively with project leadership to balance technical priorities, delivery needs, security, maintainability and operational readiness.
