Job summary

Whizdom is seeking an experienced Technical Lead - PD Tools (APA) to join a major Federal Government transformation program, focusing on the implementation and migration of IBM APA for z/OS. You will work closely with program delivery teams and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

The role requires deep technical leadership across installation, configuration, conversion, testing and deployment, with emphasis on risk, compliance, and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Experience leading implementations of IBM APA for z/OS.
• Strong understanding of z/OS subsystems (DB2, CICS, IMS).
• Knowledge transfer and stakeholder engagement demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical requirements validation and solution design.
• Review client use cases and support ISV replacement initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership across installation, configuration, conversion, testing, and deployment.

Whizdom is seeking an experienced Technical Lead - PD Tools (APA) to join a major Federal Government transformation program. This is a specialist leadership role focused on the implementation and migration of IBM APA for z/OS, working closely with program delivery teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical requirements validation and solution design
• Review client use cases and support ISV replacement initiatives
• Provide technical leadership across installation, configuration, conversion, testing, and deployment
• Support implementation planning and production cut-over activities
• Manage risk, compliance, reporting, and post-implementation reviews
• Deliver training, knowledge transfer, and ongoing technical guidance
• Proven experience leading implementations of IBM APA for z/OS
• Strong understanding of DB2, CICS, IMS, and related z/OS subsystems
• Deep knowledge of CA/Broadcom Mainframe Application Tuner (MAT)
• Experience providing technical direction on data collection and integration requirements
• Strong stakeholder engagement and knowledge transfer capabilities
• Experience with Jira and ServiceNow
• Experience with IBM Z software products
• Australian Citizens only
• Federal Government security clearance preferred
• Remote working supported
• Occasional travel to Canberra may be required
