Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Technical Director in Perth to lead major resource sector projects and studies, manage scope, schedule, budget and risk, and steer multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality study outcomes.

You will build trusted client relationships, translate objectives into execution plans, and contribute to growth strategies while developing a high-performing team and delivering client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification in mechanical engineering, chartered status preferred.
  • Extensive project and study management experience in the resources sector, preferably iron ore.
  • Demonstrated opportunity management experience and strong commercial awareness in a consulting environment.
  • Experience working with tier-one iron ore or other major resources clients is highly regarded.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work in lean teams and maintain strong technical understanding.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management for practical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead major resource sector projects and studies from opportunity definition through to study delivery.

  • Prepare and review study reports and presentations, including financial evaluations, risks and opportunities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, driving technical excellence, collaboration, and successful project outcomes.
  • Contribute to Service Group business plan and growth activities.
  • Represent Aurecon throughout the complete project lifecycle, ensuring client satisfaction.

As a Technical Director, Project / Study Management & Team Leader in our Industrial Mechanical team basedin Perth,you’llcontributetoprojects and programs thatmake a real difference and be part ofateamthat embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.

  • Lead major resource sector projects and studies from opportunity definition through to study delivery.

What you’ll bring
  • A relevant engineering qualification, ideally preferably in mechanical engineering, with chartered status preferred.

  • Extensive project and study management experience within the resources sector, preferably with iron ore experience.

  • Demonstrated opportunity management experience and strong commercial awareness in a consulting environment.

  • Experience working with tier one iron ore or other major resources clients will be highly regarded.

  • A hands-on leadership style, with the ability to work effectively in lean teams with a strong technical understanding.

  • Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on practical outcomes.
