Job summary

Benetas in Victoria is seeking an experienced Technical Data Analyst to transform complex data into meaningful business insights that support informed decision-making across the organisation. You will design and maintain data models, build and optimize data systems, and deliver interactive dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights driving service improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics or Mathematics.
• Advanced SQL skills with data extraction, transformation and analysis.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar BI tools.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with data-driven mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Data Analyst to join our Information Technology team. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will play a key role in transforming complex data into meaningful business insights that support informed decision-making across Benetas. You'll work collaboratively with stakeholders to design and maintain data systems, develop robust data models, analyse large datasets, and deliver impactful reporting solutions that enhance business performance and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Designing, developing and maintaining data models, databases and data systems to support business intelligence and reporting requirements.
• Extracting, transforming and analysing data from multiple sources using advanced SQL and other analytical tools.
• Developing interactive dashboards, reports and visualisations using Power BI, Tableau or similar BI platforms.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand data needs and provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Supporting data governance, integrity and quality through effective data management practices, documentation and system integrations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of strong technical capability, analytical thinking and stakeholder engagement skills.

You Will Have

• Qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Advanced SQL skills with proven experience in data extraction, transformation and analysis.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar reporting platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights from complex datasets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical information into meaningful business outcomes.
