Job summary

Flybuys is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our Melbourne-based team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will partner with Product and Platform squads to translate business priorities into actionable requirements, support data-driven decisions, and drive process improvements across IT and business units.

The role demands strong communication, analytical skills, and experience with SQL and Jira/Confluence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Business Analysis experience aligned to BABOK and Agile.
• Experience in data projects or other technical projects.
• Able to work with dispersed, diverse agile teams to deliver value.
• Strong communicator with negotiation and influencing skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate data to insights.
• Working knowledge of SQL and complex data environments.
• Familiar with delivery apps like BPM, Office, Jira/Confluence.
• Willingness to lead through change across culture, processes and systems.
• Capturing, documenting and tracking requirements using Jira/Confluence.
• Basic programming knowledge and understanding of how systems work.
• Excellent communication bridging business and technical teams.
• Ability to handle multiple initiatives concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess and mitigate risks and issues from analysis processes.
• Collaborate with Product Manager to convert priorities into detailed requirements.
• Manage requirements across Platform team and flex squads.
• Capture business requirements and translate to technical requirements with stakeholders.
• Perform data analysis to inform decisions by stakeholders.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and align on project goals.
• Contribute to standardizing software development processes.
• Analyze and model business processes to identify improvements.
• Work with IT teams to implement solutions that meet business needs.
• Contribute to testing and validation of new systems and processes.
• Take on other duties as assigned by management.

Your Role

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract.

The key areas of accountability in the role are:

• Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks and issues that are identified through the analysis process.
• Work closely with Product Manager to breakdown the Business priorities into detailed requirements.
• Manage requirements across Platform team and flex squads
• Liase with internal and external stakeholders to capture business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Perform data analysis to make informed decisions by stakeholders.
• Managing stakeholder expectations and ensuring alignment on project goals
• Contributing to the standardization of software development processes.
• Analysing and modelling business processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Working with IT teams to implement solutions, ensuring they meet business needs.
• Participating in the testing and validation of new systems and processes.
• Any other accountability or deliverable as assigned from time to time by management

Your Experience

• Demonstrated experience delivering BA and test artifacts aligned to BABOK and Agile methodologies with 5+ years Business Analysis experience.
• Experience working in data projects or any other technical projects
• Ability to work with dispersed and diverse agile technology teams to deliver continuous value for our customers
• Strong communicator and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical skills, proven ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Working knowledge of SQL and experience working in complex data environments.
• Strong working knowledge of relevant delivery applications i.e. BPM tools, Office suite, Jira / confluence.

• Tertiary qualification in Business and/or Information Technology.
• Understanding process modelling techniques and tools to analyse and improve business processes is essential.
• Skills in capturing, documenting, tracking, and managing requirements using tools like JIRA or Confluence.
• Basic programming knowledge (e.g., SQL), database concepts, and understanding of how systems work is beneficial.
• Effective communication is vital for bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• The ability to analyse complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions is essential.
• The ability to work concurrently on multiple initiatives
