Job summary

Bendigo Bank is seeking a Technical Analyst in Security Enablement, Education & Resilience to bridge technical security controls with a strong security culture in a hybrid Melbourne setting.

You will translate complex needs into actionable user stories and metrics, design engaging security training, and work with engineering, risk and compliance to ensure APRA/ASIC-aligned requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Cybersecurity experience or exposure to cyber awareness, behaviour change, or security communications is a plus.
• Comfort operating within regulated environments with familiarity of APRA and ASIC guidelines.
• Outstanding presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to engage diverse audiences.
• Degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering Communications, or equivalent practical experience; relevant certifications are valued but not essential.

As a Technical Analyst within our Security Strategy, Enablement & Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technical security controls and a strong security culture.

This is a dynamic Line One role where you will enable squads to deliver secure, resilient, and compliant outcomes. You don't need to be a cyber specialist;what matters is your ability to communicate clearly, grasp key concepts quickly, and turn technical, privacy, and regulatory rulesintoactionable guidance.

In this roleyou'llget to

Translate complex needs:

Turn complex security, privacy, and operational resilience needs into clear, testable, andfeasibleuser stories, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements (NFRs).

Drive security education:

Design, develop, and deliver creative and highly impactful security awareness, education, and training content to foster a strong security culture.

Map processes & controls:

Support the team in mapping processes and security controls, helping to identify opportunities for simplification and risk reduction.

Partner for compliance:

Collaborate with engineering, risk, and compliance squads to ensure security, privacy, and APRA-aligned regulatory requirements are explicitly defined and met by our technology and business teams.

Support change adoption:

Assist in preparing training materials and communications to drive seamless security change adoption with business stakeholders.

Contribute to continuous learning:

Use your strong stakeholder skills and attention to detail to help capture lessons from incidents and continuously improve our everyday operations.

Whatyou'llbring to the role

Cybersecurity experience:Prior exposure to cyber awareness, behaviour change, or security communications is a plus. If you havestrong trainingor communications experience in another field and a willingness to learn cyber concepts,we'dlove to hear from you.

Regulatory familiarity:

Comfort operating within regulated environments, with solid familiarity with key Australian regulatory requirements (such as APRA and ASIC guidelines).

Exceptional communication:

Outstanding presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage, educate, and influence a highly diverse technical and non-technical audience.

Relevant qualifications:

A degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering Communications, or equivalent practical experience; relevant industry certifications are highly regarded but not essential.
