Job summary

The City of Canterbury Bankstown is seeking two Permanent Full-Time Team Members – Support Services, primarily based in Bankstown. You will coordinate communications, logistics, and systems across Libraries, Meals on Wheels, the Arts Centre, and Community Planning, supporting project delivery and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates will have a Certificate III/IV in Business Administration and strong Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing administrative support within a busy team environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience coordinating calendars, meetings, bookings and associated logistics.
  • Experience undertaking financial administration, including processing invoices and purchase orders.
  • Sound knowledge of records management practices and administrative systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records, databases and information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive administrative support across multiple teams to support efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate calendars, meetings, bookings and logistics for internal and external activities.
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, presentations and other documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, registers and filing systems in line with Council requirements.
  • Support community-facing teams with enquiries, bookings and general information requests.
  • Assist with procurement and financial administration, including purchase orders, invoices and expenditure tracking.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for divisional projects, programs and events.
  • Coordinate relevant Working with Children Check requirements in consultation with the Human Resources Team.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve administrative practices through technology and automation.
  • Support the adoption of new systems, digital tools and collaborative platforms across the division.
  • Build effective working relationships and contribute to strong communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Contribute to a positive, flexible and supportive team environment.

Here at CBCity The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Councils in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 29 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 370,000 residents.

The role

We are currently seeking two Team Members – Support Services to join our team on a Permanent Full-Time basis. Based primarily in Bankstown, these roles provide high-quality, proactive support across a diverse range of services, including Libraries, Meals on Wheels, the Arts Centre, and Community Planning and Development. The successful candidates will also be required to work from other Council locations as needed. In this varied role, you will help keep day-to-day operations running smoothly by coordinating communications, logistics and systems, while supporting the delivery of projects, programs and events. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to streamline processes and make effective use of technology to enhance efficiency, collaboration and service delivery across the division.

You will have

The salary for this position starts from $69,034 (Grade C, Step 1) + 12% super.
