Job summary

Cumberland City Council, located at the Auburn Depot in Greater Sydney, seeks a hands‑on maintenance officer for cleansing duties. This permanent, full‑time role requires a minimum of 2 years' experience and relevant licences and cards, plus willingness to travel across worksites and locations.

Qualifications

  • Current Class C driver’s licence.
  • Ability to operate multiple cleansing plants (high pressure units, blowers).
  • Current Traffic Control and Traffic Management Implementer card and White Card; ChemCert accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • 70 hour fortnight.
  • Access to Council's 9 day fortnight RDO arrangement.
  • Located at Auburn Depot, with frequent travel across Council worksites and may work at multiple locations.

The Successful Applicant Will Require
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in general maintenance duties
  • Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with peers, customers and community organisations and an ability to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate a strong customer focus with sound customer service skills and the ability to embrace a system of change and continual improvement
  • Current Class C driver’s licence
  • Be able to operate multiple cleansing plant (high pressure units, blowers)
  • Current Traffic Control and Traffic Management Implementer card (also known as Traffic Control Combo course)
  • General Construction Induction Card (White card)
  • AQF3 ‘ChemCert’ Chemical Accreditation

About This Role
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 70 hour fortnight
  • Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement
  • Located at Council's Auburn Depot, with frequent travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations
Salary information
  • Grade 4 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,140.67 to $1,397.32 per week, plus 12% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role

  • The right to live and work in Australia
  • Be able to provide information for pre‑employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre‑employment medical examination as required
  • Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council’s Health Monitoring Procedure, as required
