About The Opportunity

At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community. We are currently seeking a Waste Transfer Station Team Leader to join our Utilities Operations team.

In this role, you’ll do more than oversee daily operations —you’ll lead, support and motivate a team of staff across multiple transfer stations to ensure safe, efficient and compliant services for our community. You will set the tone for teamwork, communication and a positive workplace culture, while also identifying maintenance needs, addressing operational issues and adjusting priorities to meet service demands.

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Have
  • Proven experience supervising day-to-day operations and leading staff
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain a positive, high-performing team culture
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, contractors and the community
  • Strong organisational and decision-making skills, including the ability to prioritise and adapt under pressure
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operational procedures, safety regulations and compliance requirements
Desirable Attributes
  • Relevant qualifications/accreditations in Waste Management
  • Experience using WasteMan or similar weighbridge software
On a Typical Day This Role Will
  • Oversee daily site operations to ensure safety, efficiency and compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, site inspections and team meetings to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Monitor stockpiles (e.g. green waste, scrap metal) and ensure waste is accepted, stored and removed safely.
  • Identify and respond to operational or maintenance issues, escalating where required.
  • Supervise contractors, including conducting site inductions.
  • Engage with staff, contractors and the community to resolve operational queries or customer requests.
Remuneration And Benefits

Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)

Starting salary of $77,704.38 to $86,975.77 per annum depending on skills and experience, plus 12% Super and allowances

This role also qualifies for a Tool of Trade Vehicle
