Business Unit: Transport & Civil Infrastructure

Title: Team Leader, Public Place, Permanent - Full-time Role, 38 hours per week

Salary Range: $92604.95 to $107622.32 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

The Transport & Civil Infrastructure Business Unit provides maintenance and delivery related to road assets, traffic management and street lighting, and infrastructure related to parking system assets. It offers timely and accurate advice, promotes best practice methods and procedures, and develops new and innovative solutions in a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable manner.

The Transport & Civil Infrastructure Business Unit delivers the following services:

  • Maintenance & Construction of Civil Infrastructure
  • Traffic and Transport Planning
  • Asset Management & Planning
  • Community Transport, Parking, Fleet and Stores
  • Business Operations

Our opportunity
  1. Responsible for providing direction and leadership in managing staff
  2. Provide day-to-day direction, supervision, and support to inspection staff
  3. Motivate and develop team performance to meet service standards
  4. Maintain WHS&E standards ensuring compliance against relevant Statutory Regulations
  5. Promote a high standard of service delivery that enhances community trust
  6. Communicate effectively with our customers to efficiently resolve requests and contribute to a positive customer experience
About you

What you will bring to our team:

  • Experience in task allocation, performance monitoring, and conflict resolution
  • Understanding of public civil assets such as roads, drainage, pathways, signage, street furniture, etc.
  • Familiarity with inspection standards, maintenance planning, and asset condition reporting
  • Ability to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Relevant qualification in trades or related experience
  • Demonstrated practical experience and ability to deliver high quality work within set timeframes and report on progress using computer-based systems
  • Ability to use computer-based systems
  • Competence in using mobile devices for field reporting
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team
  • Class C (minimum) NSW Drivers licence
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, together with a commitment to working in a team environment and multi-skilling
  • Strong focus on Workplace Health and Safety
  • Skills and knowledge in road, drainage and civil public infrastructure
  • Demonstrated skills & experience in manual handling
  • Focus on delivering positive outcomes for the public
