About the role

Council is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Team Leader – North Turramurra Golf Course to join our Sportsfields & Golf Courses team.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated crew in the maintenance of an 18-hole public golf course, ensuring it remains in top condition for the enjoyment of the community and visitors alike.

Reporting to the Supervisor Sportsfields & Golf Courses, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the maintenance of the golf course, gardens, and surrounding areas – including turf management, irrigation, pest control, mowing, and chemical application
  • Supervise, train, and support a small team of ground staff
  • Develop and implement weekly and seasonal maintenance programs
  • Monitor work quality, WHS compliance, and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure timely completion of scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Manage administrative duties such as timesheets, site inspections, and reporting
  • Maintain and manage inventory of tools, materials, and equipment

Qualifications, skills & experience:

  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • ChemCert accreditation (chemical handling)
  • White Card (Construction Induction)
  • Extensive experience in turf management and golf course maintenance
  • Supervisory experience in operational staff management
  • Knowledge of turf renovation, weed/pest control and irrigation systems
  • Understanding of golf course operations and preparation standards
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop team members
